Services for citizens
Consulting
Museum staff offers to citizens and institutions a free service of naturalistic consulting, but also the Museum offers its help in case of emergency activities to rescue stranded and injured animals.
Access to storerooms and to collections not exhibited
Reserachers could provide a motivated request to scienfitic managers of the Natural History Museum of Venice.
Access to scientific information
Only upon previous request, it could be possible to access a rich scientific bibliography and digital databases of the Natural History Museum of Venice, illustrating results of researches and information about exhibits in the collections.
Access to the Library
Access to the Library of the Natural History Museum is allowed for reasons of study to read scientific books or periodicals part of the collection. The Library is specialized in the Natural Sciences field (Earth Science, Botanic, Zoology, etc.), but it houses also works related to other disciplines and books regarding the Venetian Lagoon.
Services for students
The Natural History Museum of Venice accepts trainees, graduate students, graduates and those specializing in subjects related to museum structures and services.
The training program is made possible by agreements signed between the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Italian and foreign Universities that offer Masters or Diploma courses in related subjects.
Degree discussion
The final discussion for a degree isa great opportunity to study deeply a specific topic. Once decided the subject of the final dissertation, the student is supported by the Natural History Museum staff in his/her researches and in the writing phase.
Training program
The training program offers young people the chance of a work experience at the Natural History Museum, so they can develop their skills and abilities and discover their own aptitudes. The training programs cover all services offered by the Museum and eachs student is supported by a tutor during the entire internship period. Training periods generally range from three to six months.
