The Metropolitan City of Venice is a true mosaic of habitats: from lagoons and agricultural areas to urban environments, it provides a unique refuge in Italy for a great variety of bird species. But who are the winged inhabitants of our territory? Where do they breed, and how have their populations changed over the past three decades?
The result of four years of research and comparison with historical data, this publication reveals the secrets of local birdlife through clear maps and remarkable photographs. It is not simply a journey of discovery into nature, but an in-depth analysis of the factors that enable a species to thrive—or cause it to disappear. By looking at birds as “thermometers” of environmental health, or bioindicators, the book becomes a valuable guide for anyone interested in planning for and protecting the future of our territory.

HOW TO TAKE PART
To attend the conference, visitors must collect a free admission pass from the Museum ticket office, starting 30 minutes before the event and subject to availability.
