THE LAGOON: many isles, one park

Project

From April 28th to May 20th 2012
Projects’ exhibition: May 5th 2012 (from 10 am to 6 pm)

The Istituzione Parco della Laguna is organising a competition for infants’ and primary schools in the province of Venice with the aim of promoting awareness of the lagoon and to encourage the children to defend their natural, historic and cultural heritage. The participants are invited to explore the lagoon’s islands, discover their history and traditions and evaluate the evolution of the relationship between the lagoon and its inhabitants. At the end of the didactic process, which includes creative workshops, the classes will present a report with images, materials and accounts of their experiences to offer some precious suggestions for a sustainable use of the lagoon, in view of the plans for a park in our territory.

A selection of the best works will be displayed in the Museum and may be seen free of charge on Saturday 5th May from 10 am to 6 pm. The exhibition will also provide an opportunity to draw the attention of the public to a section of the Museum that is shortly to open, dedicated to the Venetian lagoon.
