We are excited to announce the partnership of Venice Natural History Museum with Google Arts and Culture and over 50 other museums across the world to create a unique project: Natural History.
A new online experience by Google, at the Natural History Museum in Venice and some of the most prized natural history institutions in the world allows users to meet face to face the giants of the Jurassic and visit in one place the collection of the most spectacular natural history imaginable .
With the help of Street View, users can virtually walk between the exhibition halls of the Fontego dei Turchi, a wonderful old building of the early Middle Ages on the Grand Canal, which today houses the museum, and immerse themselves in the charming and engaging exhibition.
“The Museum of Thrills”, an interactive story, made out of images and texts, that accompany users along the way to visit the museum and shows the richness of the collections of the Museum as well as the work of its staff, active on the research, dissemination and preservation, and the crucial activities to preserve the environmental heritage of the Venice lagoon.
The latest technologies help us to give life to the magic of these legendary places and to offer everyone the opportunity to get in touch with the history of our evolution and the environment in which we live, in all its richness.
